2023 High School All State Select Championship (2026-2027 Grads)
Lucas Smith is a 2027 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends Lovejoy. A taller frame with physicality present. Showed strength in the build. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. Primary catcher. He worked with open feet, using a side saddle setup. He loads up deeper with a higher slot on his release during the round of throws working out of the crouch. Comes up out of the crouch and works through the zone. A right-handed hitter who has a wider base, showing higher set hands and a higher back elbow. Keeps the hands inside the ball well. He has a balanced base and balanced operation. He starts slightly open and has a toe stride using timing with a good weight transfer. He showed some bat speed with a level swing and the ability to leverage. He was able to launch with some authority during his round of BP swings. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added 3 hits, including a double. Excellent student.
