Julian Martinez is a 2028 C/MIF/UT with a 5-9 158 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends The Stony Brook School. Compact, athletic frame with tons of projection remaining. Recorded a 7.64 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that receives from a lower, side-saddled stance with soft hands, quick and direct midline transfer and short arm action. Gains ground towards his target with quickness and athleticism out of the crouch, while delivering online and accurate throws to the bag. Mimicked game like actions to record a 2.01 second pop time. Secondary infielder with fluid, athletic actions throughout the fielding process. Works downhill through the baseball with good pace and rhythm, while funneling cleanly out in-front and displayed plenty of lateral range to either side. Produced accurate throws up to 80 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced, slightly open stance with a high hand set, low back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Whole field approach with feel for the barrel, quickness to his hands and strength at impact. Linear swing path with plenty of present bat speed and plenty of projection remaining.
